Memorials Day Weekend In Chicago

Four people were killed and least 53 more were wounded during the Memorial Day weekend as Chicago neared the end of a particularly deadly month.
A 15-year-old girl was shot and killed while riding in a vehicle on North Lake Shore Drive with two older men who were described as "gang members". Meaning at least 60 people were shot and killed this month.
In the Lawndale neighborhood, the mother of another teen, Shequita Evans, walked up to a scene of a woman who was shot in the neck while driving. The woman was driving down Lexington Avenue near Pulaski Road. Shequita stated she had to get through "one more summer" until her 17-year-old could graduate and leave the city.
Also during the holiday weekend in over 76 hours 69 people were shot.
The image above shows the scene where a 44-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 11 p.m. found James Taylor lying on the ground near his vehicle in the 5100 block of South Calumet, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

A sign posted is posted on a tree where the scene of a triple shooting in the 2000 block of 68th place on May 28, 2016. This is a terrible memorial day weekend.
